Support at Home Speech Pathology in Melbourne

Support at Home replaced Home Care Packages on 1 November 2025. If you or a family member receives Support at Home, speech pathology can help with swallowing, communication and staying connected, all in your own home.

Under Support at Home, allied health services such as speech pathology sit in the Clinical Supports category. There's no participant contribution for approved clinical supports, as long as the service is part of your care plan and funding is available.

Is there a cost to me?

  1. Talk to your provider or care partner. Ask for speech pathology to be added to your care plan, especially if it was identified in your aged care assessment.

  2. Let them know you'd like to see me. Or ask your provider to get in touch.

  3. I visit you at home. Your provider coordinates billing from your Support at Home budget.

  • If your GP completes a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan, you may be able to claim a Medicare rebate for up to 5 allied health services per calendar year (shared across all allied health).
